Additional to launching Kamakanaaloha, Darrah serves as Executive Director of Project Vision Hawai‘i, where she dramatically expanded the organization’s reach and impact. Under her leadership, Project Vision grew into a statewide force for health equity, extending vital services to incarcerated individuals and LGBTQ+ communities—populations historically underserved by traditional healthcare models. Through her innovative strategies, she not only broadens the scope of services but also secured long-term sustainability for the organization, transforming it into a model for social impact in Hawai‘i and beyond.

With over a decade of experience across government, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership, Annie Valentin has built a career dedicated to systems change, strategic philanthropy, and public health innovation.
As an Advisor for Public Health in the Office of Governor Josh Green, M.D., Annie played a pivotal role in policy initiatives focused on healthcare access, homelessness, trauma-informed care, and mental health. She spearheaded major projects, including the launch of Hawai‘i’s first crisis hub and the expansion of Kauhale, a pioneering model for community-based housing solutions.
Her expertise extends to philanthropy and fundraising. As Director of Philanthropy at Adventist Health Castle and Hawai‘i Pacific Health she led fundraising efforts that secured millions in funding for health system expansion and workforce development.
Annie is also the founder and former Executive Director of Project Vision Hawai‘i, a nonprofit that provides health services to over 25,000 people annually. Under her leadership, the organization merged with the Hawaiian Eye Foundation, expanding its mission and impact beyond Hawai‘i.
